QIN is founded by, and integrates knowledge from, QUT Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) students. Wanting to share their practical expertise on the Bloomberg Terminals with other students, the team built QIN as a place where beginners and advanced students can learn, use the lab, ask questions confidently, and keep building practical investing skills together.
Juan Blason and Matthew Bloder founded QIN to bridge the gap between financial theory and practical application. Drawing on their SMIF experience, they established a club where students can confidently access Bloomberg terminals, ask questions openly, and build practical investing skills together.

Leads QIN’s strategy, direction, and long-term ambition. Focused on building a student finance network that feels practical, credible, and genuinely useful for members.

Keeps the club operationally sharp through onboarding, coordination, and execution. Helps make sure the member experience feels organised from the first touchpoint onward.

Shapes the QIN brand, digital presence, and communication rhythm while also overseeing the club’s financial operations and growth-focused execution.

Builds relationships with sponsors and external partners so QIN members get stronger access to industry, visibility, and real-world opportunities.

Supports QIN’s content and communications to keep the club presence active, clear, and aligned with upcoming events and member priorities.

Helps shape practical development opportunities so members can build confidence through relevant skills, workshops, and career-focused exposure.

Bridges member experience with alumni insight to strengthen long-term club outcomes, mentoring pathways, and external engagement opportunities.

Represents member needs across club activity and helps keep operations connected to what students value most from QIN events and initiatives.
We are looking for students ready to help run QIN, shape events, and contribute to a high-quality culture around practical investing and research.
